Teléfono Roto is a one-hour children’s show that provides young boys and girls with the tools to strengthen their emotional intelligence. The ingredients in this story of reconciliation are two young Hispanics going through conflict, a group of actors, and a mediator, each sharing their version of the conflict. First they listen to one another’s account of how the conflict occurred, then their stories are re-enacted by a comedy troupe. This is to demonstrate how performance is a useful way of opening up dialogue between the two parties. Finally, a mediator and a studio audience try to broker an understanding. The fun and playful aspect of this program and its positive approach to resolving conflict will appeal to audiences of all ages.
